Quilting again!
With my days now longer (thanks public school system!), I have had a chance to do some more quilting. I finished this quilt top in just a couple of days using a jellyroll in Daydreams fabrics by Deb Strain. I really love the browns paired with the blues, pinks and greens. It matches nothing in my house, but that's besides the point! I am not sure what I will do with it. I am sure it will sit in the pile of finished quilt tops that need to be machine quilted someday.

Playing with Fabric
After a long dry spell, I got the urge to do some quilting again. I picked up this book, Happy Hour, at the Houston Quilt Show last fall and decided to make the quilt pictured on the cover with the Three Sister's Shangri La fat quarters I had. The cutting took some time, but the blocks sewed together really quickly. Here is the result:
I haven't sewn the blocks into strips yet. I think I am still playing with the block arrangement. I tend to over think this part and should probably just throw them together randomly.
Looking ahead to the next project, I promised Anna we could work together on a quilt for her using the above fabrics. Aren't they soooo cute??? She really wants to sew something since her big sister, Claire, finished a quilt top over spring break. Come to think of it, I need to post some pictures of Claire with her quilt. Let me go see if I can find some........

Fabrics dancing in my head
How's that resolution of yours coming along, you ask? The one about spending more time on creative pursuits. Well......
So far, I've organized the kids' 15 cumulative years of schoolwork that had occupied various nooks and corners of my closet. Clean, organized house? check. Nurturing my soul? Yeah, not so much. However, I have been thinking about projects and fabrics and what I want to get started on next week. Decisions, decisions.
Should I start playing with the fabulous Amy Butler fabrics my mom gave me for Christmas?
Perhaps I should keep working on my folky looking stars from a Brannock & Patek line called Four Seasons.
Or I could do something with these yummy pink and brown charm squares from Judie Rothermel's Charleston IV line.
On the other hand, I can't wait to do something with these Shangri-La fat quarters from 3 Sisters.
Or the Jelly Roll in the same line of fabrics.

Sigh. This could take some time.
