Happy New Year!

Happy New Year one and all! I am not one for new year resolutions (been there, broke that), but I always think in general terms about what I want to accomplish in the coming year. My mom gave me this gorgeous Amy Butler bag for Christmas and the tag really speaks to me. The Sweet Life. I think that is what I want for 2008. Nothing grand. No major goals to achieve. Just, the sweet life. I want happiness and contentment for me, my husband and our three daughters. And I want to contribute to that sweetness in small and significant ways every day. Since I am a stay at home mom, for me that means making sure our home is a haven for our family. It means creating memories and keeping traditions. It means a clean, organized home, but not at the expense of a game of Littlest Pet Shop Monopoly. It means constant (gentle) nagging to my teen about her homework, but recognizing when bonding over Project Runway is more important than 2 more percentage points on a test. For me personally, it means spending more time on things that nurture my soul, so I can in turn, nurture my family. I am determined to spend more time in 2008 indulging my creative side. I love quilting and fabrics. I also love paper arts and crafting. And I hope to devote a large part of this blog to my creative efforts this year.

So though my 2008 plans are not grand, I am really looking forward to this new year. Cheers to the sweet life!
